The first sign your Axle Shaft needs replacing will be the vibrations you feel at low and high speeds. A broken shaft can also lead to ruptured CV Axle Boots, so be sure to inspect every part of the Drivetrain for damage, including any Car Axle Bearings. If your vehicle is 4 Wheel Drive be sure to take a look at the Transfer Case Control Lever for any damage.
