Monroe Warranty Information

The following is a summary of manufacturer warranty terms. This summary in no way modifies or supersedes the original terms.

• Monroe® OESpectrum® Shocks and Struts
• Monroe® Reflex® Shocks and Struts
• Monroe® Quick-Strut® replacement assemblies
• Monroe® Gas-Magnum® Shocks

Tenneco Inc. warrants qualifying Monroe® products against defects and wear-out when used on private passenger cars and light trucks under normal operating conditions for as long as such original purchaser owns the vehicle on which they were originally installed.

Tenneco's obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement of the worn-out or defective product in accordance with this warranty. Cost of removal and installation are not included, and any incidental and consequential damages are excluded under this warranty, regardless of when the failure occurs. This warranty has no cash value. This warranty does not apply to products which have been modified, improperly applied or installed on vehicles used for commercial or racing purposes.

Tenneco warrants to the original purchaser that RoadMatic™ strut assemblies purchased from authorized Tenneco dealers are free from defects in material and workmanship, and will not wear out, for three years from the date of purchase when installed on passenger cars and light vehicles by a professional automotive service provider for personal use under normal operating conditions.

Tenneco's obligation under this warranty is limited to the replacement of the worn-out or defective product with a new unit of the same part number. If the part number has been superseded or discontinued, Tenneco reserves the right to provide a comparable replacement unit at its discretion. Costs of removal, installation, diagnostics or other labor are not included. This warranty has no cash value and is not transferrable to any subsequent purchaser of the product or vehicle on which the product was installed. This warranty does not apply to: (i) products which have been installed on non-catalogued applications; (ii) products which have been misused, modified, altered, improperly applied or damaged in an accident; (iii) products which have been installed on vehicles used for commercial or racing purposes; (iv) products which were purchased from an unauthorized reseller; or (v) products whose purchase date is beyond the three-year time period outlined above.

Tenneco offers a limited warranty on qualifying precision-designed premium Monroe® Magnum™ shock absorbers.  Refer to the specific qualifying products below:

Tenneco warrants, precision-designed Monroe Magnum shock absorbers installed on vehicles used for commercial purposes against defects and wear-out for one (1) year from date of purchase or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Tenneco warrants qualifying, precision-designed Monroe Magnum shock absorbers installed on vehicles used for commercial purposes against defects and wear-out for two (2) years from date of purchase or 200,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Tenneco warrants precision-designed Monroe Magnum 553XXX and 550XXX shock absorbers installed on vehicles used for commercial purposes against defects and wear-out for three (3) years from date of purchase or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

This warranty does not apply to shock absorbers which have been modified or improperly installed, or that have been damaged because of misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, accidents of any kind, or acts of God. Also, consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Tenneco’s obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement of the defective shock absorber in accordance with this warranty. Cost of removal and installation, as well as commercial loss or other consequential damages, is not included.
