Gas caps that don't properly seal the system, corroded or damaged fuel tanks, and electrical faults in fuel sending units cause unwanted engine problems. Besides a drop in performance, minor faults can cause problems in other parts too. Contaminated fuel in dirty tanks clogs up Fuel Filters, lowers pressure in the pump and injectors, and causes incorrect air to fuel ratios. You'll soon notice something wrong with other parts. Throttle Bodies are particularly sensitive to changes in fuel delivery from faulty Fuel Injection Components, and will mess up how the car reacts with the gas pedal down.
