Carter Warranty Information

The following is a summary of manufacturer warranty terms. This summary in no way modifies or supersedes the original terms.

Electric Fuel Pump Warranty

Length of Warranty

This Warranty lasts as long as you own the vehicle in which the Product is installed. Coverage terminates when you sell or otherwise transfer ownership of the vehicle in which the Product was installed. The Warranty on replacement parts provided by Carter will be for the same period.

Exclusions

Products do not include the following which are covered under the Carter 12-Month limited warranty: mechanical fuel pumps and fuel system accessories, including, without limitation, strainers, tank lock rings, wire harnesses and sender cards.

This warranty does not cover Products: (i) used in police cars, race cars, taxis, car sharing service vehicles, commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, governmental vehicles or modified vehicles; (ii) subjected to misuse, improper installation or maintenance, or incorrect application (iii) that have been modified by customer; (iv) that are obsolete parts no longer available from Carter, (v) exposed to racing fuels, blends and additives; (vi) damaged as a result of casualty (including without limitation fire, flood and collision) to the vehicle in which they were installed; or (vii) that have been transferred to a vehicle other than the one on which it was originally installed.

Eligibility Requirements

This warranty is only applicable to Products (i) when installed on vehicles as specified by the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the vehicle and/or as catalogued by Carter, and (ii) for fuel pumps only, when installed there is a simultaneous replacement of the fuel strainer.

This warranty applies only to Products purchased after September 24, 2013. To obtain this remedy you must properly return the original Product in the replacement Product box (with the strainer) and with proof of purchase of the original Product.

Note: Fuel pumps and or filters and injectors are considered to be hazardous materials once exposed to the fuel. Transportation of such items is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations 49 CFR 173.4 for shipping a limited quantity of dangerous goods (residual gasoline). Mechanical Fuel Pumps and Fuel System Accessories Warranty

Length of Warranty

This Warranty expires on the earlier of (a) twelve (12) months after the date of purchase of the Product by the customer, i.e., at midnight on the anniversary date of the Purchase, or (b) the date upon which the purchaser sells or otherwise transfers ownership of the vehicle in which the Product was installed. The Warranty on a replacement Product provided by Carter will extend for the balance of the warranty period on the original Product.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover Products: (i) used in police cars, race cars, taxis, car sharing service vehicles, commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, governmental vehicles or modified vehicles; (ii) subjected to misuse, improper installation or maintenance, or incorrect application (iii) that have been modified by customer; (iv) that are obsolete parts no longer available from Carter, (v) exposed to racing fuels, blends and additives; (vi) damaged as a result of casualty (including without limitation fire, flood and collision) to the vehicle in which they were installed; or (vii) that have been transferred to a vehicle other than the one on which it was originally installed.

Products covered by this Warranty are Carter Fuel Systems, LLC (“Carter”) mechanical fuel pumps and fuel system accessories, including, without limitation, strainers, tank lock rings, wire harnesses and sender cards (each a “Product”). Products covered by this Warranty also include Carter® electric fuel pumps and electric fuel pump assemblies purchased before September 24, 2013.

This warranty is only applicable to Products (i) when installed on vehicles as specified by the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the vehicle and/or as catalogued by Carter, and (ii) for fuel pumps only, when installed there is a simultaneous replacement of the fuel strainer.

To initiate a warranty claim, download and fill out the form below, carefully following the instructions. This warranty form claim must be completed and the part sent within 30 days of part failure.
